INGREDIENTS:
- 1 1/2 pounds fresh tuna steak
- 2 cloves garlic minced
- 3 inches fresh ginger root, grated or minced
- 3 1/2 Tbs Tamari dark soy sauce
- 2 scallions chopped
- 2 tsp sesame oil (eyeball the amount)
- 1 tsp black pepper and 1/2 tsp coarse salt (eyeball it)
- 4 kaiser rolls
Avocado Mayo Ingredients
- 1 avocado chopped
- 1/3 cup or less of mayo
Preparation:
- Cube tuna steak into bite size pieces and place in food processor.
- Pulse the processor to coarse grind the tuna. Transfer tuna to bowl.
- Combine tuna with garlic, ginger, dark soy sauce, sesame oil, scallions, and salt and pepper.
- Form 4 large patties, 1 1/2 inch thick.
- Cook on grill at med./high heat 3 mins. on each side for rare, up to 6 mins/side for well done. Grill rolls to toast.
- Lightly salt avocado to season, mix with mayo and spoon onto burgers.
